Giant Eagle: Our HUGE Cereal Haul (Still on sale through Wednesday)!

Good morning! I have been gathering my coupons for a great cereal haul at Giant Eagle.

We broke our cereal haul down into 3 transactions (2 at one store, one at another). Because I have two devices I can print from, I am able to get 4 of each printable coupon instead of two. Since Giant Eagle only accepts 2 of each "like" printable coupon, Justin had to do a transaction, and I did another. Which was fine, because then we got to split the fuel perks - some went to him, and some went to me! Then, we had to go to a second store closer to our place later because they didn't have any Cinnamon Toast Crunch - and we had 9 coupons from inserts just saved for a rainy day, so we were determined to get it.

Something to note - these boxes are family size, which means they are HUGE! The boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams, and Reese Puffs usually retail for $4 or $4.59 each, so paying .50/box for them is really, really great!

If you only have access to one computer/one printer, and can only print two of each, I suggest trying the first or second transaction. The first transaction uses all printable coupons, and the second uses all but one. So you could mix and match however you like, depending on the coupons you have.


Transaction 1: Uses all printable coupons!
Reese Puffs: 3 boxes = $9
Golden Grahams: 3 boxes = $9
Rice Krispies Multi-Grain Shapes: 2 boxes = $6
JIF Peanut Butter Cereal: 1 box = $3
Total = $27

Coupons Used:

Total Coupon Discount = $12.50

Total At the Register = $14.50
Fuel Perks Earned = .60 x 15 gallons = $9
Total for 9 boxes of cereal = $5.50!
(Total before any discounts/coupons was $35.91, so $5.50 for 9 boxes was 85% savings!)

Transaction 2: Uses 8 printable coupons and 1 clipped.
Reese Puffs: 3 boxes = $9
Golden Grahams: 3 boxes = $9
JIF Cereal: 2 boxes = $6
Cinnamon Toast Crunch: 1 box = $3
Total = $27

(Total before any discounts/coupons was $37.11, so $4.60 for 9 boxes was 88% savings!)


Transaction 3: Uses all clipped Cinnamon Toast Crunch coupons.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch: 9 boxes = $27

Coupons Used:
(9) Cinnamon Toast Crunch .75/1
Total Coupon Discount = $13.50

Total At the Register = $13.50
Fuel Perks Earned = .60 x 15 gallons = $9
Total for 9 boxes of cereal = $4.50!
(Total before any discounts/coupons was $41.31, so $4.50 for 9 boxes was 89% savings!)



Here's the rundown...
If we would have gone to Giant Eagle and picked all 27 boxes of cereal off the shelf, and paid full price with no coupons or sales, we would have paid $114. After coupons and fuel perks, we spent $14.60 for 27 boxes of cereal, which makes it just .54/box!

Overall, we saved 88%! I will have some very happy brothers. :)
