This is the second post detailing our GE trip from 5/29/14. In this post, we'll teach you how to get in and out of the store with everything you need.

Step 7: Go Shopping! We set out on our trip to save on Thursday and Friday. Our coupons for Brawny and Angel Soft didn't get here until Friday, so we got a few things Thursday.
We began by taking our list and going through the aisles. First we wanted to see what cereals were on sale so we would know if our Cheerios and Trix coupons would work. We found out that the following cereals were included in the 5 for $8: Cheerios, Trix, Cocoa Puffs, and Total.
Next, we went to the salad dressing to choose our 4 Wishbone dressings:
They had plenty of Wishbone in lots of different flavors. We got 2 Italian, one ranch, and one buffalo ranch.
And finally, we went to the baking aisle to choose our 3 Snack Pack flavors. We got 2 chocolate and one chocolate vanilla.
We scanned the aisles to see if they had Brawny or Angel Soft, and our store had some of each. Coupon or not, $10 for 10 is a great deal!
I organized my coupons to make sure I didn't have any extra and that I wasn't missing any. Next, we checked out.
Step 8: Checkout Time. Before coupons, our total was around $25. Then they scan your advantage card, and the "weekly sale prices" take effect (example: Wishbone is usually 2 for $4, but once you scan your advantage card it will come up 2 for $3). Our cashier was nice and we had no problems with our coupons. Our total at the end was… $1.75!
Here's what we got on Thursday! Everything but the Brawny and the Angel Soft:
Our grand total for 5 boxes of cereal, 4 bottles of dressing and 3 packs of pudding was… $1.75!
Step 9: Check your receipt to make sure everything went okay and snap pictures of your receipt for your Shopmium, Ibotta, and Checkout 51 rewards. SavingStar is great because it links to your GE advantage card and the savings come off within a few days. Before you purchase something though, don't forget to click "activate" on the deal so that it will take the savings off. Here's an example of what Savingstar looks like:
It specifies which cereal you can use and it is only good for one box. So, once GE updates their system, my .50 reward will come through and be credited to my account.
Ibotta is a little different. Here, you can choose the rebate for a certain product and "unlock" your reward. You might have to do things like take a poll, watch a video, or answer a question. Ibotta requires that you take a picture of your receipt to prove you purchased the product. It will then be credited to your account. Once you reach $5, I think you can cash out using PayPal.
Step 10: Bask In Your Glory! We were pretty excited about our shopping trip. We had a friendly cashier which made it very easy and helpful.
The next day.. our coupons had arrived. We knew Brawny and Angel Soft would go fast, so we went to our favorite store to check for it. Our store had plenty of Angel Soft. It's somewhat rude to take 25 of something off a shelf and leave none for others, so we made sure there was still some there after we had taken ours. We also got 8 Brawny paper towels. We split it into two transactions - we each had 12 toilet paper and I had 8 paper towels. Our total ended up being $1.20 each, for the toilet paper. The paper towels were free! Now we have 96 rolls of toilet paper.. which I'm sure we will use eventually. We'll have to go back another day this week to get the other 16 rolls of paper towels!
